2rz-3rz question
« on: Nov 26, 2006, 12:55:14 AM »
I found a 2rz I belive wreacked truck for 450.  Havent looked at it yet.  It is a 2X4 SO i AASSUME IT IS THE 2RZ.  iS THE ONLY DIFFERENCE THAT THE 3RZ IS STROKED?  IS ALL THE REST THE SAME??  OR ARE THERE DIFFERENCES??  WOULD i NEED A 3RZ COMPUTER TO SEE ANY DIFFERNCES.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_RZ_engine  HERE ARE THE SPECS i FOUND iN MY SEARCH.  THEY ARE THE SAME BORE BUT DIFFERENT STROKE.  sO cOULD i BUY  STOCK CONNECTING RODS TO MAKE THE 2RZ A 3RZ?  mIGHT NOT BE WORTH IT i JUST AM CURIOUS.

The 3rz's were available with a oil cooler if the truck came with a factory tow package - mine did.  The heads on both are the same though.

The 2RZ-FE is a 2.4 L (2438 cc) version built in Japan. Bore is 95 mm and stroke is 86 mm. Output is 142 hp (106 kW) at 5000 RPM with 160 ft·lbf (217 N·m) of torque at 4000 RPM.
The 3RZ-FE is a 2.7 L (2693 cc) version built in Japan. Bore is 95 mm and stroke is 95 mm. Output is 150 hp (112 kW) at 4800 RPM with 177 ft·lbf (240 N·m) of torque at 4000 RPM.

so is this wrong???  it says bore is the same but strokes are different
