Dual Case Shifter Orientation
« on: Sep 26, 2006, 06:34:37 AM »
I was playing with the shifters for my dual cases i just installed and trying to figure out how to build a new console.  Both my factory t-case shifters lay over to the front passenger side at an strong angle in 4-low-low.  My question is, has anybody installed these backwards in order to orient them more towards the driver with any ill effects?  They seem to fit fine and it seems like it makes it a bit easier to reach instead of leaning forward to grab the front case shifter.

Thoughts?

That is what I was thinking of doing.  I did not see the harm in it.  The only conflict I could imagine is the close proximity of the tranny shifter to the front case shifter when in 4th gear.  Not close enough to be an issue though.  The other would be the factory plastic console hitting the shifter in that orientation, but I dont think I am going to use it anyhow.  Thanks.

had to bend mine too.  My crawler still leans a bit to the pass. side, but I can't move it any further over w/o hitting the tranny shifter real bad
