Locking Hub Problem
« on: Sep 28, 2006, 05:21:52 PM »
Rebuilt my '85 front axle. Everything went together fine. Got down to the drivers side locking hub.
I can't pull the axle shaft out far enough to get the snapring on. Anyone know what might cause this or how to fix it?
What's that snapring for anyway?

haha ya u need that snapring! It keeps the birf from sliding into the 3rd member!

check your bearings and races (it is possible a race is not seated correctly)

also check the position of the wheel hub nuts (maybe one is not all the way tightened)
