I've had quite a dose of reading about the wonders of the 7M-GTE and 2JZ-GTE Toyota Supra, in-line six, turbo motors. It seems that they are famous for their bulletproof bottom ends, able to hold up to big power increases. I also see that there are reputable makers of aftermarket turbo systems for the 1FZFE 4.5 liter in-line six (found in late '90's and newer Landcruisers). Any opinions on how suitable the 1FZFE is for such modifications with regard to crankshaft and rod strength. And the 9:1 compression ratio seems a little high for a turb motor?
Also regarding manual transmissions. I understand the manual transmission in certain 80 and 100 series Landcruisers (from other markets than USA) is an H151F (not "R" series)? I believe they are found behind the inline six gas and diesel. Did they also come behind any 8 cylinder engines? Anybody know anything about these -- Matt
