Anyproblems with E-Z locker?
« on: Jul 15, 2006, 04:16:14 PM »
Hay guys has ever put an ez locker in the rear end before. I did and I am getting a lot of slack or slop what ever you want to call it. Is this normal. I know I should have put it in the front but I was trying to cut some corners and thought I would give it a try. Now I hate it. I was just wondering if this was normal with these lockers. 1 more question is a spool worth it  I was thinking about putting that ez locker up front and putting a spool in the rear.

I toasted 2 ez lockers in the rear before I went with the spool. Before they broke, I really didn't like the locking\unlocking around corners on the street. too much clunking for me.  I previously had a K5 with a spool, so I knew what I was getting into with the toy. I have to say that I would never run anything else different in the rear, no detroit, ARB, even an e-locker. Spools, are cheaper, stronger, simpler (sp), and predictible. However, people will look at you in the parking lot, your tires will wear faster, and it is easier to lose the rearend on icy roads in 2wd. I have found that these drawbacks are far out weighed by the bennifits of a spool. But that is just my $.02
You have a Jeep?  That's cute.... So does Barbi.
