2jz-gte to tacoma 6 speed?
« on: May 20, 2006, 12:23:37 AM »

alright, ive been heated on the topic lately of taking a twin turbo supra motor and puting it into my 2wd 84 toyota.. i have recently made a friend that knows of a 95 supra i can pick up for a super good price. the car even has the 6spd tranny in it. im wondering how the bellhousing and input shaft compares to that of the r151f style tranny.. does it have a detachable belhousing so that i could run the supra bellhousing to the taco 6spd tranny to get 4x4?

nope.  Getrag 6speed in the Supra with a integrated bellhousing.  You'd have to use a non-turbo trans/bellhousing.

The new Tacoma 6-speed also has an integrated bellhousing. Its an all new design unrelated to any of Toyotas previous transmissions

damn...there goes my dreams of putting one behind my 22R.  i thought toyota learned that integral bellhousings suck when the discontinued the L series...

There is a forum online that is directly for people who want to put supra motors in their Toyotas..well..any truck, but I think its primarily for toyota trucks. .. I can't find the site at the moment, but I know its out there.
