So which v8 should i swap in ?

Im sick of not having enough power..  whatever motor goes in  it will have a auto behind it .. probably with a manual valve body.  No im not going to try and find a toyota v8 and swap it in.  i dont believe in the whole "keep it toyota" thang.
I had an LC EFI preformer motor in my truck but i still blew it up due to my driving style ( high rev to get wheel speed/power)  with a v8 i wont have to rod it as much  to get the power i need.    yota motors just dont make the power i need.

im leaning twoards the 390  because i have it already..  but  it also means i need to go buy a holly setup to have FI.. i run on extreme angles to much to have a carb  the other cool thing about the 390 is that it has a np435  already on it so i have a bullet proof tranny with a 6.69-1 first gear..   the toyota tranny wont stand up to my driving either..  i murderd my reverse gear yesterday. 

any other v8 i should look at i didnt list ?

Throttle-body it is an easier install, there is less to go wrong, only 2 injectors, they are bigger so it is harder to clog em.

You could always go propane.It would be alot cheaper than FI and still have the same benefits.

i want an auto.  the only reason id use the np435 is because i already have it  and its already bolted to the 390.  while less work id rather have an auto but eh..  im cheap..

one other delima.. i just founda  guy that wants to trade a 7M-GE for a good 22re..    basicly a whole supra..  its been totaled but its rearend damage..  what to do...  the 7M-GE is the only motor id go for  toyota wise..

I voted for the Vortect 5.7, I think it can deal with high revs over the others.  Second chioce would have been the 390 because they have good power and are reliable, just are not a rev happy motor.

I vote 350, its the all around Chevy engine and easy to build and come-by with parts.. ALOT of aftermarket stuff out there.. besides that.. i've seen the swap done and it isn't difficult.

yeah thats what i was thinking..  a tbi 350 would be the best/easiest  lot less wires.  i have no issues with clearences since i cut out all my inner fenders and if i have to i'll build a front tube secton to make stuff fit.. aint no thang.  cheap mods and the things are dime a dozen..  but its hard to find one that people dont want a arm,leg and first born for :\

what ever you put in there make a it ford , we all know chevy wont last long if your abusing it. i would put a 5.0 out of mustang with the multiport fuel injection instead of TBI [all that is a glorified carb] plus the 5.0 would fit better and has the distributor in front so you wont have firewall/distributor clearance issues. and you know that the 5.0 has a lot of more afthermarket support than the tbi and vortec
plus you could bolt on the np435 . the reason i woulnt put a 351w is that it never came with car type fuel injection only the truck type and its to tall to clearence the hood

ive seen throttle bodies stall to much of road plus you plan to use a fuel filter right to prevent injectors from clogging right :smack:

only way a ford motor would go in my truck would be because i have it.  not to mention the fact that the 350 has been around FOREVER  shows me alot more about them than any other motor.. not to mention the ease of them.  Clearence is not an issue with anything.  NOTHING is stock on my truck and modifying somthing is a non issue.  i'll cut a hole in the hood if i have to lol..  or rebuild my entire core support.  i have no inner fenders  or anything.. hell if i wanted to id move the cab back a couple inches lol.

id love to stick the 390 in there..  big block+ toyota (whats left of it)= *drool*  that would be so awesome.. but i dont know how the rest of my stuff would survive haha.  Im really fed up with toyota drivetrain.. it does not stand up to my style of wheeling..  the only thing i have not broke has been my tcase !  im afraid to take it apart for it may cause it to  explode..   im slowly swapping it all out for chevy stuff..   one thing i will keep is toyota ujoints.. those things rock !.  might run a toy case setup though..  we'll see.

id like to run a 700r4 if not.. a th350..   either one in 2wd or 4wd..  becuase i have a divorced np205   if i get a 4wd tranny i'll probably try and find a adapter and run a toy case since those seem to stand up to v8's

uh  yeah..  i just swapped that motor in didnt touch anything or modify anything.. had my oil changed alot.. and when it finnaly blew the headgasket on it i was rodding it.     after i replaced the headgasket i didnt expect it to hold.   the 22re i have in there now is holding up great though.
