Carb gasket Pn
« on: Jul 01, 2003, 08:59:17 PM »
Anyone have a Fel-Pro or NAPA PN for the Carb mounting gasket, haven't had any luck yet and their books all turn up EFI gaskets. It's for a 22R.

Even when you tell them its for a 1981-1988 carb engine??

Try to rule out the EFIs and search for 81-84.

sorry couldnt find my felpro catalogue but I did find my McCord book.
66-0295  thats the number for a 22r 81-90
I can get you the felpro and napa # at work tomorrow.  You mentioned NAPA our interchange should cross that to a NAPA# w/o any issues.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Yeah at first I told them it would be similar on any carbed 22R, but they still came back with the same gasket. I told the guy there should be no EFI parts listed for an '83 and he was a little baffled. Thanks for the number, if ya have a Fel-Pro or NAPA # that would be great, I want to make this as simple as I can when I go back to the store.

The carb gaskets are usually bonded to the insulator so when you buy the insulator it comes with them.

UHHHHHHH. Duh what's an insulator? I haven't worked on Toy motors much so I'm kind of learning as I go. I need to put on a different carb I have but don't know what kind of shape the old gasket/insulator is in. The engine was rebuilt under 20,000 ago, any thoughts if the gasket is reusable? what do I ask for when I go to the parts counter to get the insulator/gasket I need?

I just asked for the carb insulator but I had trouble getting it at a parts store I went to bingham toyota and got one.  The insulator is the plastic spacer that goes between two gaskets between the carb and the intake manifold.  The gaskets actually come bonded to each side of the insulator so you just place it in and go.

Bingham (Valley Toyota) is better than Michael's Toyota.
