L52 5 Speed Tranny
« on: Apr 22, 2005, 11:27:30 PM »
Up for sale is my L52 5 speed tranny out of a 83 4WD.  This is the short, cast iron, tranny that is very hard to find.  Shifted and worked fine when removed.  $200
Located in Roseville, near sac.

I just bought and received a rebuilt L52 from Marlin Crawler. It will be a replacement for the L43 that came with my 1980 Toyota 4x4 PickUp. I just bought this truck and on the 150 mile trip home the tranny broke: a rear output seal leaked all the manual  tranny fluid,  second gear began knocking loud and hard, and reverse sucks. Luckily I made it all the way home before the L43 decided to quit. I ordered the L52 upgrade and have been waiting, as the truck has been sitting non-op. I could not find a tranny locally. I wish I would have saw your classified earlier, but the truck went to the shop yesterday evening. I was looking to save some bucks, but Marlin had the best prices for a quality product. Thanks anyways.

not sure about the L43 but an L45 is the same length as an L52 or L50, the worst that can happen is you have to move the crossmenmber back a little and probebly wont even be enough to have to any thing with the drivelines, measure your tranny and let me know (PM) and I'll measure my L52 or ask awhotrods to measure his, there good trannys same input bearing as a G52, does your truck have a cable or hydrolic clutch?

AWHOTRODS thats a clean 83 :beerchug:
