Is food gender specific?
« on: Jul 12, 2005, 05:34:11 PM »
Ok, so it's slow and I am chit-chatting with one of my mechanical shops, and said " a steak and a beer would be good about now". So my buddy Jeff, at the shop replies, " that's guy food". I thought an ice cold Black Butte Porter and a rib-eye sounded pretty good. So is a glass of wine and a Caesar salad more appropos? That sounds good also but is it gender specific?  Yo estoy muy confundito.
Take a deep seat and hang on!

yeah...lots of food has the stigma of being "for guys" or "for chicks"...just depends on who your talking to, but generally, not a lot of women would rather have steak and beer than, say, shrimp pasta and wine..

As you should and be happy if it's on a plate! But, we were just bored at work last night and pondered the thought. Would it be better to eat my steak and drink my beer wearing my Victoria Secrets under my Carhartts? Of course I would add a nice field greens salad and a cappacino with my after dinner chocolate. All good fun...better go re do my nails, chipped one on a torque convertor. :shake:

LOL! MrW could have written that!! Although he'll sacrafice some for good taste!
I used to think there was his/her food till I worked at a big office. There are as many "manly men" that would like to go out for a good salad as I would like to go out for a good hot burrito. :fart: ~and btw - yes - I (as I am sure many more wimmins do then would admit) do crop dust.

Gender specific food......Hmmmmmmm......no I don't think there is.  The only time I can see that happening is if you are on the first date and you both want to appear to be "cultured".  Puttin' on airs and stuff like that there.  The only difference in a case like that is I would use a napkin instead of my sleeve.  Some times I feel like having a salad some times I feel like having a steak.  There are times I feel like having a "chin dribbling" hamburger or a yogurt :dunno:

As far as beer goes, I either drink beer or I eat, I can't do both.  :meal:

I know one not to eat on either side. Never have spaghetti, there is almost no way to eat it without looking like a slob unless you are a very good twirler

Oh, no, no, no, don't do oysters until later. Feel her out first, (no not that way) once you find out she's going to want  kids then start downing the oysters.  Being sneaky is all part of the game. Taco's are ok, they're messy but only end up on the table not on your clothes. Sure there are lots of books on this stuff, but THERE IS NO SET TEXT FOR WOMEN.
