22re distributor issues
« on: Nov 08, 2016, 08:35:51 AM »
i have purchased a new long block from a local machine shop and when i tried to slide in the distributor once it reaches the tapper it gets stuck. the head seems to be some Chinese crap one distributor got stuk and i had to use a persuader to bring it out and its toast i have a new one and it gets caught in the same spot. i am thinking dremel out the hole where it has these scars but am afraid that the o ring will not seat after any advice ? should i sand down the shaft on the distributor to make it slide in?

have you tried calling the machine shop. I would bring it down there, and show them.

it was a shop my buddy used to work at and they were fighting us on other issues with the ports being :pokinit: so they are useless to me unless it grenades on brake in.  :shocking: :shocking: that will be when i take it down. as of last night motor is in the truck and i am just going to fix it worse come to worse gonna need a larger o ring once i smooth out the bore. i am just looking to see if anyone has ever run into this.

If all else fails, dremel it and use a big o ring, and maybe some silicone sealant?
Do Amy other distributors slide in? Just a thought.
