More than half of what is shown in this picture is new. The incomplete list of parts for this rebuild includes:22RE Performance Stage 1 rebuilt engine with dual-row timing chainRadiatorHeater hose and clamp kitRadiator hose kitDistributor hold-down bolt (Yes, it's a special bolt)Plug wire clipsAir filter housing to carburetor sealPCV hosePCV vent hose12' Vacuum line (Not enough, there will be more coming soon)Air filterDipstickAir filter housing wing nutSpark plugsLower radiator fan shroudTransmission brace to block boltsTransmission brace to transmission boltsBell housing bolt set (Yes, three seperate bolt sets)EGR valveFlywheelClutchEverything (where available) is OEM Toyota except for the clutch disk which is SECO. I just have to finish hooking up the Giant Vacuum Line Spaghetti Monster, get the clutch hydraulic system overhauled now and some Toyota Red in there and I will be ready to test the new engine. Yes, it's been an expensive project
Looks great.. your good to go for another 200k
That's the plan. As far as I'm concerned this is a 2021 Toyota Pickup at this point. Between the new engine and attached paraphanalia, the HD W56 from Marlin Crawler and the soon-to-be freshly rebuilt transfer case (If you're listening Trevor, I'm still waiting for those 4.7:1 gears to ship ) there is almost nothing left of the original 1985 multi-owner basket case. I've also been going slowly and carefully with great perfectionism, the Toyota way As far as my insurance company and county vehicle taxes are concerned it's a 1985 Toyota pickup. Fine by me.
If it were my engine I would want to know if it's pinging right away.
Took it out on the highway today. I can't decide If I'm hearing some pinging or just being paranoid, but a wideband AFM will answer that question with facts and data. Stay tuned...
