trail flex rear end sag
« on: Dec 31, 2005, 10:44:46 PM »
well, we just finished up the sas on my 87 4runner, well  randy ellis did, i just ran and got misc parts and stuff, anyway it is sagging about 1- 1 1/2" in the rear and i was wondering if anyone else had the issues using the 4" trailflex front and rear springs. i initially orderd the 5" springs but their lack of availability caused me to get the 4" springs and longer shackles out back. the rear shackles are longer than the fronts, (haven't measured but visually you can tell)  http://community.webshots.com/album/532669309nfAdCT . granted there is a 37" mt/r in the back and 2 "racing seats" (for sale btw) it sagged before the 37 was in there. should i just make longer rear shackles, or give it time and see if the front settles enougth to level it out or what??

ps.. those springs flex AWESOME

Give your springs time to soften up and brake in, thin take another look and deside.

Mine sit real high in the front too, although little by little they are settleing...give it time.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Your runner is more ass heavy than a truck, which would help to explain why it sags in the rear more.  Also, when you ordered 5" springs did you order em for all 4 corners and only change the order for the rear?  Maybe you find somebody on here with the 5" rears that would be willing to trade you.
