The Morph "2"
« on: Aug 23, 2016, 08:23:29 PM »
Hi guys,
This is my second morph,i call it that because it's a combo of both worlds.I started with an 80 short bed, wheeled it for a few years, then it stoped passing smog.(love Cali smog laws)
So the morph 2 started,I bougt a 48 Willies rust bucket forva grand. The wheel base is way off between the two,so I ligned up the front fenders tooth axles.moved the drive train back 14", and added a doubler using inchworm adapter(clocked)marlin heavy duty input/output.
Since a rust bucket was the start,I used 1-5/8 unistrut and 7/8 to build a substructure then cockered it with 10 Gage steel.
For a cage I pulled out the bender, picked up 240' 2" tube and got started.Week later it was done with only two straight pieces total.fitting the biddy back together took a bit longer,a two foot stretch was made and a lot of welding came next.
For axles I run 5:71 Detroit in back with a spool up front, rear richard brakes round it out. With 35" BFG's
Hope to post photos soon.
