Need honest input from other owners who successfully 3 link their front and rear toyota, specifically 01-04 tacoma model.

-would you recommend just linking the front and keeping leaf in the rear?
-how stable is it for road use?
-any death/sudden wobble for highway use?

Trying to answer questions I have before starting project. Will be installed by professional shop, not using TG part.

That depends on person doing the work and how much they know about suspension.

It can be done and has been done. Most people swear up and down with 4WU kits...

I'm aware F&R link been done before by many.

My questions are for those who successfully link their street rig. I'm considering APOR for installation.

How's the ride quality after linking the front and rear?
Any wobble or rig feeling unstable while turning.
How's the rig going above 70mph.

For those who link front and rear, do you regret and only wish to link the front and keep the rear leaf?

It's hear say......

Heard many non link people saying they know link owner common issue are, unstable ride while on highway. Many non link people also say the rear leaf acts as an anti sway and if you remove the leaf, truck will be unstable??

Like I say, it's he said they said stuff. I want to hear from guys in the field who done it successfully.

I've done it. And it's all on how it's built. It's also the spring rates and shock valving. If you intend to drive it daily then get sway bars too. Also remember that you are undertaking the task of re-engineering the vehicle. You are now responsible for the end result, if something doesn't perform to your liking then you need to find out what's wrong and how to fix it. Anyone's complaints regarding poor handling has no one to blame but the man in the mirror.

SAS with leaf on older yota, I'd done it before and don't have issue with it. But link on the other hand, is something else. Not going to take this task, going to have a well known shop who understand and done it before to do this type of work.

Thanks

Ya a leaf spring conversion isn't the same. So disregard that.
The APOR shop helps a lot but you will be the one that says yes or no in the end.

Know this, the shorter the coilovers the stiffer the spring and better it will drive on the street but worse it will perform offroad. 12" coilovers are very street friendly and 16" are not. Consider them pollard opposites.

Thanks so much for the info. Will probably stick with 12 or 14 c/o, nothing longer and will be getting anti sway for the rear. Will probably use on the road more than off-road. Just want something good for the unexpected.

3 links can drive fine on the road. They can also be easily screwed up. Taco runner sells probably the best pre fabbed kit. And he knows a epic :pokinit: ton about suspensipn.

That being said. It's actually pretty basic geometry, with pretty basic rules to follow to get certain goals. If your willing to do a fair share of research, and tack and use a measuring tape, it's very simple to dial a 3 link suspension exactly how you want it. All just time and labor. There is a wealth of knowledge on it online

Any updates on your decision to link your truck or not?
