Thanks. I somehow forgot to add that I am going to be running a diamond. Brian at 4wheel underground says  his brackets fit that axle best and the diff location is important for clearance on the panhard and 3rd link. I guess I'll call Brian at diamond and he can suggest brakes and clear the hub thing up.  Either fj80 stuff or Tacoma brakes.

FYI You can not run FJ80 brakes on a mini truck axle.
I am willing to bet that Brian @ Diamond will suggest an FJ60 width axle (58" wide) with the Tacoma brakes to get you a 61" wide axle. This way you are using off the shelf "Stock" parts, and you are not overly wide so you can still DD the rig.
For reference a FJ60 and FJ80 are 2 totally different axles.

Ahh. That make sense. Thanks for clarifying. Its nice to use stock length shafts. Easier to find spares or one to get by when you break one.
On another subject... We have had about 3 inches of rain in 10 hours. I just drove about an hour, and the runner is running terrible. I'm pretty sure the intake is getting wet. Anyone have any filters that do better than the spectra this came with? Ive seen the water covers but I can't remember where.  Edit: I googled them and found some made by injen. Might move the filter and try one of those. The engine tries to die at partial throttle, but if I floor it then it seems to clear out. Idk. Its only done it twice and both times were when it was pouring rain.

Little update.  I took a trip, had a bunch of problems with it.  Some of them were my fault, but all of them were frustrating.  I actually got so fed up I went and test drove a new rubicon unlimited.  We are self employed and have had a couple good years... payed almost everything off.  The idea of having something stock except for a small long arm kit and tires was appealing to me.  But when we drove the jeep, we just weren't impressed.  It just wasn't worth what they want for them.  So now I get to dump money into the 4runner.  I didn't want to be a jeep owner anyways, I just get tired or wrenching more than wheeling.
Things I need to work out before MCR
Cooling situation.  My electric fan mounts broke my bran new radiator.  put holes in it.
Massive oil leak.  Its in the front of the engine down by the bottom pulley somewhere.  Need to go clean it off to locate it.
Replace hydro assist ram that is leaking like crazy.
Fix elocker wiring.  (Again)
tuck fuse boxes and wiring in cab better.

After all that I will go ahead and order up a new diamond and links.  I need to get little stuff worked out first.  Its the little things that are driving me nuts and I hate to work on them.

Finally some progress.  Rear bumper time.  Hoping to make it match the sliders.  its 2x3 rectangle tubing.  Its not anywhere near done.  I have to mount it, install D- Rings, receiver hitch, and notch the rear tube for the tailgate to open.
The green taco is my neighbor.  It was in UU2013.   He just linked the front.

Its running good on and off.  It still has some funny things going on.  Almost seems electrical to me.  It runs good at wot, but cuts out from time to time under partial throttle.  It dies at lights every now and then.  Im not completely happy with it, but the little things are tough to find.

The bumper is coming along.  Ill have more pictures as I finish, but the bumper is harder than it looks.  As it sits in the picture, the tailgate wont open.  If I drop the whole thing so the tailgate opens it looks retarded because it all hangs down so low.  so the top corner of the rectangle tubing I cut off and Im flat plating it.  I also got these tiny "flush" mount led lights off amazon that I am mounting to it in several places.  Plus I need some clevis hooks and a hitch receiver.

The joys of self employment!! Like the rear bumper, nice and smart without using a pressbrake or other fancy paraphernalia,
Love that green taco too, nice to see that it survived UA!

So the injectors helped but it still has a glitch?  Have you had a scan tool on it lately?  I'm curious if the fuel is still fueling weird. I'd love for you to get it straightened out. That thing drove me nuts!

That little fuel line heat shield thing I was going to send you is pretty rotten so I didn't bother.  I still have a 2.7 EFI emblem I got off Marlin though.  Want me to peel it off with fishing line mail it to you sometime?

Id love the 2.7 emblem!  It runs good most of the time.  I think it has more problems when its raining out. Unfortunately I live where it rains 100 inches a year.  lol.   It doesn't run bad enough to keep me from driving it.  I just still worry a little bit about taking it out of town.

Some more progress tonight.  I got these cheap little rock lights off amazon.  10 of them for like 18  bucks.  I put 4 in the bumper facing the rear and three facing the front.  They secure from a nut on the back side of the mounting surface.  So while the top of the tube was cut open to clearance my tailgate, I drilled holes and tacked the nuts to the inside, so if one gets ripped off or stops working I can unscrew it and replace it.  theoretically.  As I was doing this I realized that as I welded the rest of it back up the steel would get more than hot enough to melt the wires.  So I spent forever wrapping my wires, hoping they wont get ruined when I finish weld the thing.

Clean rig

Thanks.  Im sure I will end up putting some dents in it soon, then it will just get caged and beat on.  Eventually.  Or who knows I might keep it clean long enough to be able to afford a rzr or buggy then just daily drive this.

I havn't been on here in a while, but I got a txt from the current owner of this runner that made me get on.  I sold this about a year ago to a really cool dude who has been daily driving it.  He's in the Air Force and fixed this thing up even nicer than it was.
It was stolen somewhere down in New Mexico on Christmas day.  If you see any orange parts down there let me know.  I will personally drive down there and bury someone for stealing this thing.  Please keep your eyes out.

thats a bummer deal. Hate it when nice toyotas get stolen.

Just a quick question though.. Did you run hydro assist off of the stock 3rz pump?

The stock 3rz pump yes. I think I took the screen off the bottom of the reservoir if I remember correctly because it would get clogged or restrict flow or something.  I used synthetic fluid.  The Trail Gear ram leaked within a few months.  Typical trail gear quality...
