ok well first off iam sure u guys have guessed iam a bit of a newb...this has been my first time pulling a motor apart etc....and got a lil too excited and just slap the timing chain on be4...
last nite pulled the timing cover back off reset the chain...its perfect now....i went by the fsm and it said to put the duzzy in at 8 btdc....did that, still the same back firing out of the carb....so alot of u have said rotate it 180....what do u mean?
set it at 0 tdc pull the dizzy out rotate the motor 180? and 180 off the cam or 180 off the crank?
also bout to do a comp test but iam sure thats not a problem...but ill check anyways
thanks for all help!
dont do that.
put the distributor in with the crank set at 0* then when its assembled and RUNNING you will set the timing with a TIMING LIGHT pointing at the crank pulley while the engine is RUNNING and the distributor hold down bolt is just loose enough that you can turn the distributor within the slotted adjustment space
