Just thinking but does this happen only when it is cold or all the time. Toyota's and I mean all Toyota's will not shift into overdrive until properly warmed. All of the Auto Toyota's that I've owned including my Tercel, both Camry's and both 4Runners did this.

I have a 91 runner with auto tranny, wont shift down until engine is completely warmed up
