Yes the oil sending unit needs to be replaced, the wire may have to be run but can already be there and ready to go or it is there but not hooked up to the coil/ingniter. Any 1st gen 4runner or 2nd gen truck will work. The only one that is different is the turbos and V6. Even the 2wd trucks are the same.

But a 2wd wouldn't have the 4WD light on it right?

If your truck is non-efi then you will have to run a separate tach line.

I have a EFI 22RE so then I would not have to run a separate line right.  What if the cluster is out of a carburated truck?
