So What exactly can you find a 151 transmission on? and will toyota cases bolt but to it or will you have to buy an adapter?

You will find an R151F on either a 1986 or 1987 5spd gasoline turbo 4x4 toyota pickup.  Turbo 4Runners came stock only with automatics I believe.  All gear driven minitruck t-cases should bolt up to this version of the R151F, but minitruck's with turbo trannies use a 23 spline gearing in their t-cases rather than the 21 spliners found in  4cyl. minitrucks with geardriven t-cases.  Please correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think this right.

Also, online research done through a desire to put a foreign LJ73 LandCruisers' R151F plus its landcruiser specific t-case behind a US diesel 2L 4x4 pickup tells me that at least another type of R151F for LandCruisers may have been used.  I have found the part no. for the 2LT bellhousing that mates Lseries diesel motors to the R151F.  I just don't know what t-case was used for sure in the LJs, but I am hoping it's the LandCruiser type for greater options.
