Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't get power until the ignition is on, so it could be replaced with a regular fixed antenna  :dunno:

yes that would work and since most toyota regular no power antennas slant back a little anyways you couls tilt it a lil more then tighten it down and it will stay out of the way or them trees
