Just installed my Grant Steering wheel which is used but the install kit is brand new. I needed a puller to get the OE steering wheel off. The splines looked fine when I pulled the wheel.

I still think that is is something to do with the IFS steering box....


Thanks for all the input guys. The truck is parked now with the interior torn out for some upgrades.
