I would build something that looked more like a budbuilt cross member but for the gas tank not the case.

With the thin metal you should be able to hug the body to clear the drive line and have better support.

I don't really have room to wrap something under it and across to the other side. My drive line will be very close to the gas tank due to the slightly offset pinion on the 14bt. I thought about cutting out the floor and bending a piece of tube up and over the drive line to replace the part of the horse collar I took out. The thing is if I cut any more out of the cab I might as well ditch it and go with a sheet of ply wood and a milk crate. I am going to give the bracing idea I posted above a try. This should be simple and fast and I don't think it will cause any problems. I have been  :sick: for a few days. hopefully I will get some work done on it tomorrow.
