the shackle thing is a bit of an optical illusion.  In person, you can see that they aren't as close as they look in the pics.  They don't touch at all.

BTW, here's some vid of a recent trip.  The guy that did the video couldn't figure out how to get the sound on, though.  you can see where the longer wheelbase can be a bit of a hindrance from time to time.
