^^^Yeah, those are some nice dimples, and a nice...umm...bumper right there

Anyway, I finally painted the bumpers and sliders.  Went with a charcoal metallic to show off the detail in the bumpers.  I'm really pleased with the results.  Here's some pics.

i really like those bumpers, wish i had dimple dies....  one question though, on the front bumper, why did they two piece the upper hoop and three piece the middle horizontal bar.....you can see where they but welded em together?.... I know its plenty strong especially if they sleeved it like they should when butt welding but wouldn't it be stronger if it was one piece of tubing
Those are some huge welds!

It was done that way b/c this was a fully custom, one off first run.  the main boxed part was done first, and welded up before we decided on the look of the rest of the bumper.  And yes, the joints are sleeved and rosette welded.  the rosettes are ground smooth.

I'll post up some pics soon that show the impacts the bumpers have taken since it was built.  Neither bumper has deflected a fraction of an inch.  I've already bowed the driver's side slider, though. :D

the shackle thing is a bit of an optical illusion.  In person, you can see that they aren't as close as they look in the pics.  They don't touch at all.

BTW, here's some vid of a recent trip.  The guy that did the video couldn't figure out how to get the sound on, though.  you can see where the longer wheelbase can be a bit of a hindrance from time to time.

you can also see where some half-a$$ spotting didn't help, too :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but that looks like Boulder Creek in Marble Falls

Yes sir! Originally from Austin but I've been all over the place the past few years. Currently outside of Ft. Worth.

At first I wasn't 100% sure but the first ledge gave me a pretty good idea, and the exit at the end finished it off. That huge cedar at the top of the trail was a pregnant dog to get cleared!
