Hmmm... I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say the triple drilled flange is not for a Taco.
Perhaps my avatar has muddled the waters; the Taco is my daily driver and not the issue.
I'm working with an '85 4Runner. I put a square d-shaft up front using a donated CV joint. The donated CV on the square d-shaft was from an IFS pickup (so I was told) and matches the '85 4Runner bolt pattern. I took the old front d-shaft and used it for a custom rear CV d-shaft. In theory the triple drilled flange (Sky Off-Road
http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/new/detaproduct.php?id=111) should bolt up fine to a '85 4Runner CV joint.
The question, I guess, should be narrowed down to how many CV bolt patters are there for Hilux and 1st gen 4Runners.
So do I have the wrong triple drilled flange? Is there more than one bolt pattern for early CV joints (I'm guessing yes)? Or am I just working under the wrong assumption that everything on the 4Runner is original? Why are we here? Is there really God? Does anyone definitely sell a flange that will work? Should I source an original flange? Should I find another CV joint and chop up the pretty custom d-shaft? Am I rambling?
