If the state can't afford the manpower to patrol & control the parks, fine -- furlough those employees. But if you simply reassign them to other duties, they are still on the payroll and you haven't saved a nickel. In the meantime, those parks are public lands, bought with taxpayer dollars -- and the state should
not lock the public out simply because they cannot afford to continue paying wages to park rangers.
