I ain't got my stinkin W-2 yet :tantrum:

Matt and I aren't sure how we're going to file.  I'm going to fill out the forms both "married, filing jointly" and "married, filing separately" and see which way works best to benefit us.  :ack:

The tables for jointly vs. separately appear different, but should yield identical results.  The tax brackets are lower for filing seperately because the total income is higher.  The only advantage that I know of for filing jointly is that you can deduct student loan interest.   I don't think that filing seperately is ever an advantage unless you're legally seperated.  It's easy enough to run the numbers and find out for sure.
