i had a similiar experience several years ago when i was driving coast to coast,  i had loaded a load of lettuce in Salinas and went up to hayward for something else,  but the place was closed so i just parked at there dock and waited for the am,    somewhere along 3 am  i felt someone step up on the side of the truck,  when i sat up in bed the hair on the back of my neck stood up so i grabed the gun and opened the curtain between the bedroom and cab, and the guy was reaching for the brake knobs ,he was about to steal the whole dam truck, with me in it,  i plugged one in the chamber real fast and as i was pulling the trigger he disappeared FAST    blew the driverside window out  :smack:  but later the cops told me there had been some trucks stolen and the drivers found dead still in the sleeper.   they didnt  seem to care about the shotgun, since there was some drops of blood on my door they figured they had a guy with some buckshot in his arm or shoulder

i didnt take that run anymore,    started taking a run from chatsworth but after a couple of trips there was this thing called the northridge quake   :smack:

i was like dang  send me to NYcity or some where safe like that, oh but then after a few years guess who was in Newjersey just across the river from the towers on sept 11th   :smack: hmmm and people ask me why i quit and started driving dumptrucks and running equipment :smack:
