for a 22re you do need a special timming cover. everyone always thinks this is a conversion..... this is just a timming kit for a 79-84 carbed 22r toyota the cam gear can be used with a converion kit bought from lc or on a 79-84 carbed 22r toyota . thanks for pointing that out
