i made a post about a month ago about my truck making noise in the front and thought it was the front axel ... but i took it to the 4x4 shop and they said the axel is fine except for leaky seals,  but they said the front drive shaft cv joint is bad and that they were going to need a kit and have to weld it on .... i never saw the kit they were speaking of but i think the u joint is floppy cause it makes that ticking sound when i turn going forward....=/

to rebuild the cv  theres no welding involved

they just didnt know how to rebuild the cv joint

Duffil is a member here and works for NAPA, he can give you the part number for the parts, (basically a ball a little smaller than a golf ball  and a brass socket)
then you need 2 u joints also
