personally i think the H1s arent offroad friendly, H2s and Offroad should never be used in the same sentence, and H3s do probably the best when equipped with diff lock and traction control.. (uncle has one)

still hate Hummers.

I had a friend in high school who was pretty wealthy. He bought a late model H1 for something like $24,000. We took it wheeling and it SUCKED in the local terrain. Way too heavy, big and crappy for the tight trails we have. Not to mention everything that broke was impossible to find, and EXPENSIVE. Really the only cool thing was the run a flat system.

He ended up selling it about 6 months later for 30 Gs and bought a brand new tahoe and dropped some 24s on it. I had always thought H1s were awesome until I rode in his. Never liked them since. That was what was so ridiculous about the whole H2 and H3s as being "good wheelers, like the H1" because the H1 served its duty well to the armed forces but for the individual who wants to go offroading, it is just NOT practical.

Though, the H3 is now one of the best out of the box offroad vehicles available from a factory, next to the Rubicon and Powerwagon. Offroad mags LOVE the h3. I dont doubt they do well now with all the input from Petersons, and Four Wheeler, ect. I just wish Toyota had jumped on the same bandwagon. An offroad designed tacoma or 4runner would be bad ass.
