They 2wd's only come in 7.5 rear ends they look just like an 8 inch but have smaller gears and i think 1 tons have 8 inchers but not shure. does anyone know if an 8 inch 4x4 diff will fit in a 7.5 2wd houseing?
I have some 4.10 high pinion diffs for sale if your looking for some, want 400.00 a peace have 2.

nope, LOTS of 2wds have 8" axles. most of the 7.5s i've seen have been on 5 speed trucks. my '84 4 speed shortbed had an 8" rear with 3.08 gears.
the 8" wont fit in a 7.5 housing though, and the 7.5 uses 27 spline shafts instead of 30 spliners like the 8"
