Kyle, I have only seen 3.90 and 4.10's in the early trucks with 8" diffs. Not sure about the 7.5's.
All early diffs 78 and older had 10 spline pinions that were prone to failure

All 79 and newer Land Cruisers use the same gear sets, and have a fine spline pinion that uses the same flange spline as the 8" mini trucks.
I have never seen a FJ60 pinion that has a hole in it.
The Cruiser diffs would be great overkill under a Samurai
