My girlfriend has the same truck you do but an extended cab and mostly stock. 3.0s arent too terrible of an engine, we bought hers from the second owner with 100k origional miles on it and it has been a great truck, runs like a champ. A lot of 3.0s if not well taken care of are just a ticking time bomb though. They arent all bad though.
