So is this something you paln on doing Dark kaos ? Those newer tacomas look so sweet with a solid axle under them and some coils overs or air shocks. There is a black one that runs around town with a can back top ![Love!](https://board.marlincrawler.com/Smileys/marlin/love.gif)
Many for these coversions have been done ![Thumbs Up ](https://board.marlincrawler.com/Smileys/marlin/thumbs.gif)
For starters, the rack and pinion steering will need to be removed, and a 86-95 ifs p/s box installed.
You will also need to replace the oil pan with a T100 2wd rear pickup model as well.
Marlin
tacoma axles are wider than mini axles so that's not as great of a swap. also, the transfer case output is on the driver side so you either need to get marlin's 4 cylinder case adapter or get a driver drop axle
most guys use modified '80-up jeep wagoneer axles or cut down '78-79 ford f150 axles, both dana 44s(ford is hi-pinion).
The thought has been rolling around my head for some time now. I have been doing a lot thinking, researching and planning on this teetering project. I heard the pre 2000 need the 2wd T-100 oil pan and all those goodies. Ford super duty axels would be sweet only problem with that is I would either have it cut down to match the back or put one out back. I would like to keep it as much Toyota as possible. The only things holding it back is time, money and axel selections, New, used or custom? I have been corresponding with Brian from frontrangeoffroadfab.com his company offers a customized axel that runs solid axel Toyota parts, also debating between buying a brand new Dana 44 or going junk yard hunting for one.
