Put a diesel in it. I have swapped diesels into both of my Toys (94 pickup and 86 4Runner).
24 MPG is the LEAST I have seen and since I'm burning vegetable oil and home brewed B100 Biodiesel I haven't paid for fuel in 15 months.
One on EBay right now cheap and it even comes with a complete extra truck
