Highly unlikely anything was damaged. A worn out axle seal will allow gear oil into the knuckle. I've driven around years with worn axles seals with no damage to bearing/birfs, so I can't imagine 20 miles hurthing anything.
I would inspect everything though while you're in there. I don't think I'd let that shop work on anything I owned any more though.
