That's the route I'd like to go, narrow a 60 front to about the same width as an 86+ rear, maybe a hair wider. My friend's dad built a v8 bug and narrowed his own 9" and it's been good for a couple/few years, just not sure if he's willing to do a front 
This is a great idea! the tires would not stick out too far. you know, laws and stuff. Could be the perfect mod for the bullet proof off road truck that is still street legal. Thats sort of what I'm trying to do...
