I have both and couldn't be happier!!      You cannot beat the cummins in a pickup. period.  7.3 was a good motor... 6.0 is crap... duramax ok as long as you keep it stock...  Cummins will run and run..  Mine is just over 500hp and 1200ftlbs of torque and my daily driver...  Fuel supply was mentioned (lift pump)...  Just replace it with aftermarket and get a gauge.   VP44s will last forever if they have good fuel pressure...
