I just bought a flowmaster 40 for my Samurai, welded it all up (cat by-pass with 2" pipe to the muffle)  and about 18" of "Tail Pipe"  But it doesn't sound...  Right...

My buddy has the same setup on his toyota, where he can have a lot more tail pipe...  about 28" off the mufller...  Well, his sounds like what I want, half a v8 lol!

Rotten  just bought a 4runner with a header, 2 1/2" pipe going to a flowmaster 40 with about 32" of tail pipe and his sounds the meanest yet!!  but mine still doesn't have that aggression to it...

Should I go with cutting my tail pipe down a bit to accommodate a resinating tip, or should I try moving the muffler up to make more room for tail pipe?  I have no clue about 4 cylinder exhaust...  I need to learn about it.

i work at an exhaust shop and in my experience the more piping you have after the muffler the better it will sound... imo the more bends in it the beefer the sound... lol not that a toy motor sounds like a healthy small block but with a header and full exhaust the sound good
