so i pulled the center  section and there was a half inch of metal flakes in the botom of the houseing but no big broken pieces has any one had or heard of a quick lock locker skiping teeth when under a load or may it be instaled wrong
Did you inspect the quick-lock? If it lost that much material you will be able to tell just by looking at it. I would also inspect the pinion and carrier bearings. If theres that much material in the bottom of the housing I would be skeptical about reusing the bearings. As for it being installed wrong, it is possible, but not likely, they are a very simple item to install.
