I assume you guys do this to sell it? Have you ever sat down and figured out the true profit margin, after buying gas/oil, saws etc? I know the saws are HOPEFULLY a one time cost, with minimal maintenance fees if you bought good units to begin with. Just kinda curious, cause on the classifieds and craigslist I see huge differences in price, and some people just absolutely price gouging. I've wanted to do this as a sideline for a long time, but california has so many requirements that it's tough to turn a profit.
Na, we do it for fun. No profit margin for us. Most of the wood we cut is given away to the people we know who can't get it for themselves. The firewood I get usually goes to WWII vet friends of mine or their widows. I've done some trading in the past for guns, a 67 Dodge PowerWagon, tools, some chainsaws, a lot of beer and stories that are priceless
