ok the switch you showed a picture of is for a 79-80 4 speed but your truck had a newer tranny swapped in corect so thats why the the wiring doest match what you need to do is cut the wires going into the old style switch then get a plug that matches the one on the pigtail for the newer style switch or get a whole new plug set and rewire both i dont think the old style switch will work i think there will be clearance problems between the tranny tunnal and the switch i dunno if that makes sense but good luck
