I put a new timing chain in my 87 runner (22re) last night, when i started it it the tensioner went soft and chain is loose as hell. I put in an new timing kit with a lc adjustable gear, tensioner was fine when installed. I have pulled the v/c back off and tried to move the plunger in and out, it will move but still wont pump up. This is not my first timing chain instal,l so it is installed correctly. Any ideas of what would cause this or ideas to fix it, before i tear it back apart. Thanks

IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5
