Since this is sort of a "poll", I'll give you my vote. :)
WHY?   Why in the world would you go to all of the trouble to flat belly your Toy(especially to the extent in the Pirate thread) on the East coast? I'm not bashing the East coast, but I have heard that most of the wheeling areas (Uwharrie etc) don't have a lot of rocks to get hung up on. :dunno: I have Marlin's skid and haven't got hung up yet and when I did, I backed off the rock and took a slightly different line.  ;) IMO if you go the extreme to flat belly your rig like the Pirate thread, you will be down several months doing the work. So my vote goes to something EASY, that protects your t-cases. After all, its fun to wrench on our rigs, but ultimately its a lot more fun to go wheeling! :yesnod:

there you are!  hadn't heard from you in a while... I have designed my own skidplate idea from that pirate thread. simpler but the same idea.  I think I can do it with a little help in a w/k.  I am still deciding but I think I'm gonna go for it.  I am kinda "finishing" all the big things on my list for the truck so I kinda wanna do it once and for all.  also, I plan to do a lot more severe wheeling than URE..   ie. Tellico, Jellico, DP, Brown Mtn, Moab one day, and whatever else I can find.
I just wanna be super capable.  maybe I will retire this idea but for now- I am going to try it.  thanks for the input man.
I'm going yota JUST so I can buy from Marlin more.
