You guys can take your race 22R and shove it

Sure its got some power but its got no life. I bet his redline was changed to around 6500 (couldnt imagine much more) to get that power output and a small engine with a long stroke isnt designed for topend power. Its a work horse motor and Ive always praised the 22R for its great bottom end torque (which peaks at a mear 2800rpm which is amazing).
So unless your towing a house trailer up a mountain in record time then its just another 22R. what!

Side drafts: That's the way to go for NA power. It's actually what I am doing to my MR2 right now:

(I have made a custom homemade sidedraft manifold.
check it out.)
But sure I'm only going to have about 170 hp normally aspirated and my 2nd version of my SC engine was just under 300 hp but that's not to bad from 1.6 liters and a 20 year old and his college budget.
Of course his engine is amazing and he's running 11 seconds with a R engine so thats amazing. I would need a couple more back pockets to build up an 'A' motor to get there so props to him for that-

To bad you cant build a race 22R and use it as a daily driver. It's like a rat engine, everything falls apart
the cans open, im just waiting for the worms to crawl out...
