yup yup ! no locker? dont bother ! (hey that rhymes..) i broke one birf on a open front end but i was WAYYYYY over turned and bangin it up a rock face. my pitman arm was set wrong so it steered to the right ALOT more than it should have.
i know lots of guys that run stupid big tires on toyota fronts.. 40s/42s/44s and DONT break. theres a guy up here that is running 49" iroks on a DANA 44! and a 44 is GARBAGE .. and when he does break he is breaking stubs and not inners which are what usually 99% of the time go first.
heres a pic of the rig on 40s and stock birfs ( original from 1983 ! same ones that have always been in the truck) this truck has seen a beating.. those birfs should have broken a LONNGGGG time ago. anybody who has been to morris lake.. i jumped that truck in 3rd gear double low out of the top on the bottom half.. full throttle assaults all the time.. that thing should have exploded by now.
