Seems like if you had the part that clamps onto the valve you should be able to pull the hose off and adapt a regulator to it. If you are using it for paintball you may already have this setup. Just make sure you're regulator is set low enough for running air tools and such safetly. (no more than 120psi or so)
I would mount the regulator as close to the bottle as possible. If you had the bottle on and you blew a hose between the tank and regulator you'd be spitin 3000psi. That could do some damage to the ole melon.
