what ever you put in there make a it ford , we all know chevy wont last long if your abusing it. i would put a 5.0 out of mustang with the multiport fuel injection instead of TBI [all that is a glorified carb] plus the 5.0 would fit better and has the distributor in front so you wont have firewall/distributor clearance issues. and you know that the 5.0 has a lot of more afthermarket support than the tbi and vortec
plus you could bolt on the np435 . the reason i woulnt put a 351w is that it never came with car type fuel injection only the truck type and its to tall to clearence the hood
only way a ford motor would go in my truck would be because i have it. not to mention the fact that the 350 has been around FOREVER shows me alot more about them than any other motor.. not to mention the ease of them. Clearence is not an issue with anything. NOTHING is stock on my truck and modifying somthing is a non issue. i'll cut a hole in the hood if i have to lol.. or rebuild my entire core support. i have no inner fenders or anything.. hell if i wanted to id move the cab back a couple inches lol.
id love to stick the 390 in there.. big block+ toyota (whats left of it)= *drool* that would be so awesome.. but i dont know how the rest of my stuff would survive haha. Im really fed up with toyota drivetrain.. it does not stand up to my style of wheeling.. the only thing i have not broke has been my tcase ! im afraid to take it apart for it may cause it to explode.. im slowly swapping it all out for chevy stuff.. one thing i will keep is toyota ujoints.. those things rock !. might run a toy case setup though.. we'll see.
